Hi there...
This is the problem... loop until c$>< "" That will exit the loop if any key is pressed... Also, there is no need to clear the buffer each time through the loop because the next call to inkey$ replaces what's stored in the buffer C$. Another thing... You need to call INKEY$ from inside the DO...LOOP...

Re: CD Audio
DS4QB++ ;D It's the best sound library you will find for QB. It's a QB4.5 library, so you will need QuickBasic version 4.5 to use it. http://piptol.qbasicnews.com/files/ds4qbpp12.zip Make sure that you read all of the documentation before you try to use it though... If you don't learn ho...

Re: Three newbie questions
When I say it sucks, I just mean that QBasic can't create exe files. I would reccomend downloading QuickBasic 4.5 quick, fast and in a hurry! ;D If you really want to make some neat stuff... QB Libraries are the key. If you already know this then cool! If you don't then feel free to ask. ;D Go...

Re: Condition question
You can use the XOR function for a toggle switch...
Code: Select all
LOOP
A% = A% XOR 1
Print A%
DO

Re: Three newbie questions
You can also find it in HELP/CONTENTS or you can look at the bottom of the screen before you hit any keys or click the mouse. Quickbasic 4.5 has the line "Version 4.5 Differences" Quickbasic 7.1 has "QBX Memory and Capacity" QBasic does not say "Quickbasic" anywhere...so that's QBasic V1.1, and it s...

I wouldn't say that your too enthusiastic. On the other hand, I wouldn't stop using QB either! ;D The language you mentioned does sound interesting, but when I take the next step I'm going to C++ and Allegro.

I don't even know if this can be done. I know that I've never heard of a working decompiler for the exe files that QB creates. :-[

Re: Using QBasic prog to load a JPEG
You can try to make your own. You'd have to figure out how JPEG files are structured though. I don't know anything about them ::), but I'm sure you can find documentation somewhere on the net.

You might check out one of the libraries. I know that DirectQB has the DQBangle function. It's a binary shift function though, so you have to understand that you still have to do an extra calculation because DQB's angles are in the range of 0-255. Angle%= Any angle from 0 to 359............ S...
