I'm sure it can be done. You would need to use INP to read the state of the port, and OUT to send a value to the port. I'd Google around for some info about the port itself before I sent any external voltage into the PC though.

Have you tried MultiLib yet? It's a QuickBasic library utility. Just Google for MultiLib QBasic if you want to check it out.

Also, there are tons of libraries for Quickbasic 4.5.
There's a tutorial section with information on just about anything you could think of at QBNews.com.

Practice with the graphics. Read tutorials. Study other people's bitmapped images. You'll be making stuff you never thought you could within 1 year... I promise.

Download DS4QB++ from Piptol's site and start messing with it. Make sure you read the manual and stuff though. ;D

Re: Memory problem with QB7.1
What that means is... At the beginning of your program add this line... '$DYNAMIC Then on QB's command line options, add the /AH switch. For example... C:/QB45/QB.EXE /AH That's what one of mine looks like. You can also look at the command line options in QB under... HELP/CONTENTS/QB COMMAND LINE OP...

I fixed my old checkers game...
I decided to redo the file loading stuff using relative paths. I didn't even know you could do it that way until recently. ::) Anyway, it uses Future and DS4QB++... It should run without sound in case there's a problem with DS4QB. It's nothing special, but it's one of the first games I made and it h...

It doesn't matter if you put them in the same directory as long as you set the correct path in the IDE.
Here's a link from when I showed someone else how to set up a library. I hope it helps you.

Re: Future Library stupid EMS graphics crap proble
What you need to do is delete all of the Future Library files and rebuild the whole library.
That should work, but if it doesn't, you might need to reinstall QB also.
