Array Issues
I have the following map system for my RPG: the world map is divided into smaller, screen-sized maps, and the world map consists of 20 by 15 of these. They are each labelled by four digits, two for the x-coordinate (starting at 10), and two for the y-coordinate (starting at 10), and thus, for instan...

When I turn it on, it does some sort of disk-check; it reports how many MB are "OK" in increments until it reaches 640. Then, the screen clears and shows an animation of a floppy going into the left floppy drive (there are two floppy drives) on the monitor (the cpu is built into the monitor). At the...

'87 IBM aid needed
I am weary with searching the internet for help concerning the IBM computer I recently acquired. I need help. I am absolutely tortured with the idea of using IBM Personal Computer Basic for the rest of my IBM-using life (which won't be long, at this rate). Anyone who has any idea of how to use an '8...

Say I have my character saved in an array, right? I just loaded him up from a file "mainchar.gfx". Is there a way that while in the process of pasting him on the screen, I could use a FOR, NEXT loop to paste all colors except a certain color. Hypothetically, that would'nt flicker, and it'd solve my ...

Invisible Colors
I made a bunch of art for my game, and surrounded the characters with color 100 (light blue). I was planning to make QBasic print everything but color 100, so that the tiles beneath the characters would show through. How can I do this after having saved the art into files to be opened and read to ar...

GAH!!! I'm frustrated! I put a music file on my C: drive, said 'DS4QB.LoadMusic 1, "C:\Legend.wav", DEFAULT', and it said it couldn't find the freakin' file! That's like asking some jack ass to point to his nose and he points to his frickin' tongue. I've tried the CHDIR command, I've tried using an ...
