Excellent question!!! I know in the 2008 MSDN there was mention of the ISAM but personally I couldn't tell you.
ISAM is nice but if you had to go with an alternative I would suggest SQLite3.
Now that you've mentioned it though I'll have to search around!!!

Hi there everyone! I wanted to share a view on the QB/PDS subject in here. I started programming in BASIC compiler 2.0 back in, ah heck who knows. I was published in PC-Magazine in 1993 (vol. 12#7 MS-Dos 6 preview) for showing how to enable the extended background text colors on any display board at...

If your looking to use your QB programs in windows, I'd suggest looking at FreeBasic and one of the IDEs that are made for it. FreeBasic works with QB/PDS/VBDOS programs AND then some. There is a combo download of FreeBasic and FBIDE that is a great starting point. Download, install, load your progr...

Where to find QB/PDS
You can also find QuickBasic AND Basic Professional Development System (PDS 7.1) from VETUSWARE.COM
I'd suggest the PDS version myself. Has more capabilities and libraries with it and has a better IDE I think.

Blast from the past!
Hi there people, I'm Rick I published a program in PC-Magazine Vol. 12#7 (MS-DOS 6.0 review cover) in '93 using QB 4.5. I was cleaning out some boxes the other day and ran across my PDS 7.1 books/disk AND QB 4.5 books/disk. The funny thing is I've been in one part of the country while my disk and bo...
