A week? 3 weeks ;D
Only 2 weeks in Italy, but after that I'll get more work than just this.

Re: Ctrl + Break
The code works only half. When the computer starts up and you keep your finger on ctrl+break, you can still 'break' the security. Another question, how do I make qbasic set a DOS variable? I mean the variables on the commandline and in batches. Here's a simple example of such a batch. Note that this...

Re: Qbasic -> SQL
Great!
The outtonet.bas file contained this
OPEN "this.txt" FOR INPUT AS #1
PRINT #1, "http://search.yahoo.com/bin/search?=hi&ei=UTF-8"
CLOSE #1
when opened with quickbasic.
I'm going to do more testing soon.
But first, I'm off to Italy, it's holidays! :P

Re: Qbasic -> SQL
I'll search for some, I'm not much of an SQL expert myself as well ;) All I need is a program that reads from a file (which is made by the qbasic program) and uses the information to update the SQL server. But we need to get a format for that file that qbasic can read & write and the SQL updating pr...

Ctrl + Break
I think most of you will know this.
How do I prevent people from using Ctrl + Break to exit the program?
Something with ON KEY, perhaps?
The protection has to be common, so during the entire program until it reaches the END command.

Re: Qbasic -> SQL
CGI4QB is visual basic.
that just might do the job as well.
but, off course, feel free to research this,
and if you can help me in any way,
I'm glad you want to! :D

Re: Qbasic -> SQL
You are getting me totally wrong. This is what I want -> Run program on a harddisk -> Store the results in variables -> Connect with a database -> Update database with variables -> Disconnect -> Close program And please everyone, do not suggest alternatives, do not ask why I want this. I can get rea...

Re: Qbasic -> SQL
thanks for explaining
my bas program isn't finished yet,
but how should I make it?
I was planning on making a menu, like
1) Start
2) Load
3) Exit
but how will it be now?
just the 'engine' code?

Perhaps you could add me to MSN or whatever way you want,
so you can help me linking my program to the Internet. :)

Re: Qbasic -> SQL
Hey, that's great, thanks again for helping. I am now discussing this (using CGI) with the person I'm making the program for. I was looking for these functions: -> Specifying a SQL db, a username and password to be used -> Read from that db -> Write to that db But if the guy I'm making the program f...

Qbasic -> SQL
Is there any way I can link a qbasic program directly to an SQL server on the internet?
I think not, but it's worth a try ;)
