Program Binding, will not run

When I try to run my QB4.5 programs, the Binding message appears in the bottom left of the screen and everything freezes. How do I get rid of this problem (these programs have run successfully in the past).

So you have some EXE's that you have run, but without any
change to your system at all, they now don't run?

Can't be. You changed something - hopefully you didn't "upgrade"
to Vista thereby ruining your system for QBasic.
