QuickBasic Cafe Forum

Hi-
I have a question that hopefully has an easy answer, but I can't find the solution anywhere...

I just installed QB71 to work on a game I started in highschool, but when I try to load most of the files, the program sticks on 'loading and parsing' and freezes- i can exit the program with alt-tab but I still cant open the files I want.

Anyone know what I can do to make the program run correctly?
I have Windows ME (I think)... sorry, I'm a bit mroe illiterate than most.

Was it running in QB4.5 previously ?

Are you using Call interrupt ?
If so and you use the default library, it is QBX.QLB instead of QB.QLB

I'd try it on Win98 if possible to see if ME is causing a
problem.

no. i dont think ME is the problem. Not many people have ME but as i have heard, it's engine is a cross between dos and xp, allowing compatability with almost anything. So i think it has to do with version differences.


But i could be wrong, i've never used ME before!
