getting started

Post by WD4PLB1 » Fri Mar 25, 2016 10:44 pm

Hello, I am new to Qbasic programming.
It has been too long, forgot everything.
Now, that I am amateur radio, I would like to learn programming from the bottom up
to learn to write my on programs.
My ham call is WD4PLB, email wd4plb1@yahoo.co
My system is, OS windows 7, vista.
Will Qbasic affect it at all?
What programs do I need to get started?
I am also interested getting into Visual Basic as well.
Please advise.
Thank you.

I love Quick-Basic, but I recognize that, today, this language is below the minimum required for those who want to start programming. The new operating systems made it impossible this programming language.
Perhaps your best option is to acquire qb64 http://www.qb64.net/ it is free, compatible with QBasic, and compatible with new versions of operating systems, in addition to bringing new graphics and audio; It is also compatible with USB printers.
I particularly do programs in Quick-Basic producing no graphics. My area of expertise is entirely in the text screen environment.
