You can do it that way, but that would be extremely slow in QB. There is a technique called bitmasking that does the trick, but it's a little tricky... and you'll still have flicker. Why wont you give FB a shot? It's so easy to do what you're asking. Here's some pseudo code for putting an image on t...

Well, there is a smal difference between a sub and a function. A sub will do something, but not return a value. On the other hand, a function will return a value. Check this out... This is an example of a FUNCTION: DECLARE FUNCTION Distance! (X1 AS SINGLE, Y1 AS SINGLE, X2 AS SINGLE, Y2 AS SINGLE) P...

Do yourself a favor, and try this program. It's free, totally legal and SOOOOooooo much better than QBasic! http://www.hot.ee/fbide/FBIde033.exe Plenty of examples in the package, plus a huge community that's willing to answer the most(dumb sounding to you!) questions. Also, your programs will run o...

Your best bet is to use a lib like DirectQB, or CosmoX... if you're using SCREEN 13, that is. Masking can be done without a library, but it flickers alot, unless you do some brute force double buffering. That's alot of work in itself though... Eh, just use DirectQB . I can help you set it up, if you...

You can do that, but you have to dim the array this way... ;) DEFINT A-Z SCREEN 13 Sprite.X.Width = 32 Sprite.Y.Width = 32 Sprite.Len = ((Sprite.X.Width * Sprite.Y.Width) / 2) + 1 Sprite.Total = 16 DIM Sprite.Array(Sprite.Len, 1 TO Sprite.Total) FOR Sz = 1 TO Sprite.Total FOR Y = 0 TO Sprite.Y.Width...

Okay, try this instead.
http://www.hot.ee/fbide/FBIde33a+FBC012.exe
As the filename suggests, it's FBIDE33a. It installs for you automatically. I think what happened is that the compiler can't find the lib files it needs.

You need to include QBX.BI. At the top of your program, type exactly this: '$INCLUDE:'QBX.BI' If it can't find the file, you need to set your paths. In QB, goto Options/Set Paths: In the Include Files field, type in the directory where QBX.BI is located. In the Library Files field, type in the dire...
